Yeah, it is frustrating! But it's a part of a T1D's life!!! Some days are easier than others. Sometimes the blood sugar is just 100% stubborn and nothing I seem to do has any affect on it! Some days I can eat crappy food that should mess it up and it's perfect! I just do the best I can every day!

Oh your poor 5 year old. It always breaks my heart to hear about young children getting this disease. However, they are coming up with such great technology and even possibilities for cures! Hopefully they will have one soon!
We do have a glucagon kit, but my stressed out husband forgot about it in the commotion.....Darn it. I've never been given the glucagon shot, but it sounds a lot better than 5 paramedics coming to my house and giving me an iv!!
Good luck, and feel free to ask

My almost 5-year-old is diabetic and hasn't had a severe low (we've caught her starting to go low before). We were instructed to give a glucagon injection if she was unresponsive. Out of curiosity, do you not have glucagon? Just wondering as we are still new at all of this (coming up on 1 year anniversary).

I'm glad you are okay. And it is good to hear what it is like since my young child can't always express what/how she is feeling.

Thanks. I am feeling much better now. It was scary though and I'm doing everything I can to make sure it doesn't happen again! I did feel very bad for Emma, our puppy. She seemed very upset. Poor thing.
